Yes, taking the award for my album of the week for our first week of the blog is one of Norway's (admittedly few) premier power metal acts, Gaia Epicus. "Satrap" is the band's speedy debut from 2003 that boasts a mixture of metal influences, but comes out thoroughly Euro-power. Competent and progressively tinged in places, this album has caught my ear and been monopolizing my iPod's play time this week!
